Cherish Bridal offer a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Brides can have exclusive use of the boutique for a one-to-one consultation to try on hand picked, well known and respected industry designer bridal gowns.

Today, we’re thrilled to introduce Lancashire based Wedding Photographer DaisyBell Photography.

Tell us more

I am a Lancashire based Wedding Photographer, covering the whole of the UK and destination Weddings. I love colour and happiness and the excitement of all of my couples special days, and I have a relaxed, natural, documentary style approach to photography and I love experimenting with light.

What makes you different?

My natural and friendly approach I feel really appeals to my couples. I am very laid back and I love the candid style of photography. I will take the more formal photos for Grandma and Grandads to be proud of but I feel my couples really appreciate getting to see all the happy, natural smiles and laughter of their friends and family and special moments they might have missed throughout the day. I stay in the background all day you will not know I am there, waiting for and hunting down those perfect shots.

How did it all start?

I have always had a love of photography since leaving university with a creative design degree in 2006. I started my business after some of my friends asked me to photograph their weddings after seeing my hobby of street photography grow. Since then, my business has grown from strength to strength and I have been fortunate to photography some amazing weddings both in the UK and abroad.

Why should couples choose you?

I am super friendly and I love to really get to know my couples before their big day as this really helps create a unique relationship between us. We go for coffee at their venue before their wedding day and take a walk around the grounds to discuss where they would like their portrait session. Some of my couples have even become friends!

Words of wisdom

Take your time and enjoy the run up to your big day. Even though it may seem like a lifetime away, you will never get this time back. Prepare yourself for an amazingly emotional day, cherish every moment and make sure to make memories that will last a life time. Take time out as a couple on your Wedding Day, go for a glass of champagne on your own and just enjoy the moment you have to yourselves.

A mobile bar service offering the option of a beautifully converted Richardson horse box which is now a fully functioning bar which can be perfectly placed outside or inside (Marquee/Barn) and/or a rustic style bar which is perfect for indoor events or garden parties. (This comes in either a 6ft or 12ft size).

What makes you different?

We understand how important the bar is for your big day which is why tailor every aspect of the bar creating an everlasting experience. Starting with the drinks; we will supply and serve any drink that you desire, you have the choice of any drink on draught and we will create and personalise cocktails for the happy couple.

We will colour co-ordinate the dressing of the bar(s) to ensure its in keeping with your wedding theme. Finally, we feel passionate about our environmental footstep which is why we offer the option of biodegradable plant cups or glassware as well as recycling everything that we use (we even use plant-based ink and recycled materials for our business cards and flyers).

How did it all start?

Our journey began after working for years in the events and hospitality industry and feeling frustrated that our ideas to improve the services on offer where not being taken on board – so one day we sat down and decided we wanted to do something we were really passionate about. After a couple of weeks of bouncing ideas about we decided to combine our love of working with people with our love of all things distilled, and The Distillery Box was born!

I offer elegant, luxury wedding cakes. Each one is bespoke to perfectly fit your wedding.

What makes you different?

I specialise in delicate sugar flowers and contemporary designs. I also offer luxury wedding favours.

How did it all start?

Having baked since I was a little girl my husband bought me a few cake decorating classes as an anniversary gift and I discovered a natural flair for cake decorating. After working in the NHS for 20 years I wanted to have a better family life/work life balance and so my cake business was born. It grew so quickly that I split my business into two brands. Elizabeth Anna Cake Design is my luxury wedding brand. Named after my beautiful daughters I have built up a brand which is known for its elegant designs and flawless finishes.

There are several moments on your wedding day that will definitely be captured and create memories that will last a lifetime. Walking down the aisle, the speeches, the first dance and the cutting of the cake to name a few! Word of wisdom

To get the most out of your design and tasting consultation and design a cake which is completely bespoke to you gather ideas of what you like. Pinterest is a great place for inspiration. Do you like rustic buttercream and fresh flowers? Pretty ruffles or modern marble? Geometric or floral?

If you have an idea of what you like I can advise you on what works well together and best fits with your flowers, venue and theme.

Top Tips for Creating a Beautiful Instagram Page for Businesses

Social media can be mind-boggling. Everything moves so quickly and platforms are constantly changing, meaning we have to keep adapting. However, something that rarely changes is your Instagram page.

Your Instagram page is the perfect window into your business, so it’s important it’s striking but also inviting. Whether you are a wedding photographer, makeup artist or something else, you use Instagram to feature your best work and build up a great following.

Your page offers a window into your world and it’s something you should be really proud of.

But more often that not, we see business grids that are messy, unorganised and just a bit unsatisfying. Your page needs to make people feel like they don’t want to miss your next post.

Now, I’m no expert, but I’ve recently been spending much more time working at Instagram to try and increase engagement and following. I’ve worked hard to improve my overall appearance and have formulated some of top tips that I’m about to share to help you create a beautiful Instagram page.

Free images

The first step to making your Instagram pretty is to post some high quality images. I often go to Unsplash if I’m feeling a little stuck for content. Unsplash has a fantastic catalogue of high quality, free images. It’s really easy to search for what you’re looking for, then just hit ‘download’ for instant access. Do make sure to credit the photographer though – after all, they’ve been so kind to give you their image for free!

There are plenty of other stock image services available too.

Colour palette

Every business should have a set colour scheme. This may be colours picked from your logo, or simply a selection of colours that you love. I’d recommend having a few tones that all compliment each other. We love everything PINK so we use a range of baby pinks, fuchsia’s and neutrals.

Image template

We love creating templates that we basically recycle constantly. It helps to keep style consistent and will help your brand become instantly recognisable.

It doesn’t have to be anything complex or something only a graphic designer would be able to create, as long as the colour and font remains the same that’s all that really matters.

Canva is a fantastic app for templates. Take a look what you can find and begin customising!

Get creative

Play around with placement of images on your grid. I like to think of my Instagram page like a website – it should be attractive and organised. When visitors land on your page it should fill them with inspiration.

Create some templates and organise them in a fun way. For example, we hosted a series of Virtual Wedding Fayres so we simply created graphics with the initials ‘VWF’ and posted a sequence of posts to lay them out in different ways.

Profile picture

Make sure your profile picture is an image that suits being cropped into a circle. I’ve seen so many profile pictures with people’s heads chopped off, or logos with text half missing.

Also ensure it’s fairly high res so it’s super clear and easy to read if it includes any text.

I’d strongly recommend featuring your logo rather than an image of yourself, as this instantly distinguishes that you’re a business page and not a personal profile.

Bio

It needs to be super clear who you are and what you do so as soon as someone lands on your profile they’re not left asking any questions. Make sure you’ve got a precise and to-the-point tag line visible at the top of your bio.

I’d also recommend stating where you’re based so others in the industry and your clientele instantly know if they would like to make a connection. For example Chester, Cheshire.

Set a category to state your business type. Simply go to ‘Edit Profile’ then ‘Category’ and search for something appropriate.

Highlights

Highlights are a fantastic way or organising your stories into categories. It can be tricky to know what categories to create, so start by thinking about the most common things you post. You can publish any of your previous story posts into your highlights, so have a flick through your roll and begin posting.

Think about your colour palette when creating the cover for your highlight too. If you want to get really professional, you can create your own icons – but bear in mind that you need to publish these on your stories first to use them as your highlight cover.

Giant grid posts

One of the most common questions I get asked is how I create those giant images that take up multiple grids. It’s so easy! I use a free app called ‘Grid Post‘.

You simply upload the image to the app and decide how many grids you want to split it up between. I usually go for all 9 (a square post), but sometimes just 3 or 6 is a nice way of breaking up your feed.

That completes my run down of top tips for creating a beautiful Instagram page.

Word of wisdom

Make sure you know who your videographer is (behind the camera)! While it’s important that you like their work, you’ll be spending your wedding day with them! So be sure to get a good grasp of their personality by watching their instagram stories, reading their bio on their website, and definitely jump on a video call with them before you book!

Virtual Wedding Fayres - What Are They and Why Are They So Popular?

Virtual Wedding Fayres… I bet you’re seeing them pop up everywhere. But what are they? How does it all work? Why are they so popular?

We’re currently in the middle of a global pandemic. Whilst we usually love hosting popular Wedding Fayres all over the North West of England and beyond, the reality is that we’re temporarily unable to do this.

So, we formulated the idea of a virtual Wedding Fayre. This inspiration came from our drive to continue connecting suppliers with actively planning couples.

Our aim is to mimic exactly what would usually bring couples to a Wedding Fayre, and try to adapt it so it was something that we could make happen online.

The number one reason people visit wedding exhibitions is to discover and book suppliers for their wedding day. People also love live music, beautiful catwalk shows and plenty more entertainment.

So, we decided to create a dedicated Facebook group where all of this could happen.

What are the benefits for wedding suppliers?

This online platform provides wedding specialists with a dedicated area to introduce their services and make connections with couples. It’s actually really simple!

Our online Wedding Fayres have proven to be a huge success with many suppliers receiving bookings as a result. Suppliers have also noticed a huge increase in their social media following.

Not only do these online events expose wedding specialists to a brand new catalogue of ready-to-book brides & grooms, but they’re also a proven method to keep providing fresh content for these couples.

New members are continuously joining the Virtual Wedding Fayre, and we’re working extremely hard to ensure plenty of new faces are discovering the group.

Why do Brides & Grooms love it?

Brides & Grooms absolutely adore these events because they’re continuing to see fresh content from specialists and are introduced to new faces – something that’s very tricky during these current circumstances!

Typically, suppliers would host an exclusive special offer or discount for couples at a Wedding Fayre – another reason why Brides & Grooms love them so much! Again, we wanted this amazing opportunity to be available online so we host all sorts of giveaways, competitions and suppliers have been incredibly generous in helping couples with a small incentive.

We strive to continue hosting these online Wedding Fayres until we can begin hosting our ‘normal’ exhibitions again.

A Beautiful Natural Themed Wedding at Longworth Hall in Hereford

Eilisha and Nathaniel held a beautiful, natural wedding at the stunning Longworth Hall, Hereford in September 2019.

The Proposal

Me and Natty have been together since we were 14 years old and we had recently moved into our first house we brought together in December 2016. We had planned a trip to London in the 21st April 2017. We had planned to do Madam Tussauds and then the London Eye on the second day we were there. So we had done the trip to Madam Tussauds and then made our way to the London Eye. Natty now explains how he had to try and hide the ring all day before we got to the London Eye. He did an amazing job as I did not suspect anything. As we reached the top of the London Eye, Natty ask me to come see something on his side of the pod, as I turned around and walked towards him, there he was with a ring in his hand. He asked me to marry him and explained he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. This was a complete shock to me and I just stood and cried. Obviously I said yes!

I was totally shocked that he had all this planned. I absolutely love my ring! We then celebrated with a few glasses of wine and a lovely meal out. I was completely overwhelmed and couldn’t have been any happier. I did not stop smiling and couldn’t believe we were engaged. We also had a engagement shoot with Tanya a few months later.

Theme / Colour Scheme

I loved the natural theme. Less is more. I also wanted a lot of foliage as I love the freshness that brings especially with white roses. The venue holds so much character also and I did not want to overload the rooms and I personally think it all went together perfectly.

Special Touches

We had access to the venue from the Friday, the day before the wedding until the Sunday as the wedding was on the Saturday. So me, my mum-Sue, My maid of honour-Amy, my bridesmaid-Sarah and my bridesmaid-Katie all came out with me on the Friday to the venue and helped me set everything up how I wanted it. As we were all staying the night before the wedding, I had planned for us all to have afternoon tea and time together to relax. This was a lovely added extra and made it even more special. Whilst we are at the table one of my bridesmaid Katie, bought me an extra special gift. This gift was a bouquet charm with my grandparents who had passed away. This was so special to me.

Also our best man Karl, booked for us to have a magician which we did not know about. The magician was amazing and all our guests loved him. I was blown away.

We also had a Photobooth which I know a lot of wedding have but it was so lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves.

The dance I had with my Dad – Father and Daughter dance, meant so much to me. My dad was not aware of this dance as I did not want him to overthink it. We danced to Heartland – I Loved Her First. This song honestly word for word describes us.

We also did a sparkler isle at the end of the night and it was lovely to involve all the guest in this.

The Big Day

We started hair and make up at around 6am. We also had a full English breakfast buffet. Hair and makeup went so smoothly we actually had time to just chill before getting dressed. The weather was absolutely amazing for us in September too.

I was surprisingly calm waking up on the day of the wedding. It’s so strange with how nervous I was feeling with the build up of it all and the night before but it was almost like it just disappeared on the morning of the wedding. I was just really looking forward to our big day. I even managed to eat breakfast which I thought I would never do!

We walked down the isle to Ed Sheeran – Tenerife Sea. If you have not heard it before, you will love it now.

Funny Moments

The bridal party playing garden games the morning of the wedding. Badminton and hula hooping, We had so much fun. Everybody was just so relaxed and calm.

It started off that my Dad and Natty were doing speeches before we ate. My Dad went first and it turned out after Natty had done his everyone was so relax they all wanted to speak. Nattys Mum did a lovely speech and so did Nattys Granddad. The whole room was just filled with so much love and happiness.

The magician blew my mind. He was amazing.

Top Tips

If I can recommend anything from the whole day would be to have a videographer. This brought us so much happiness after the wedding. People always say the day goes so fast, it is so true! By having the videographer it meant we could relive the whole day and it still makes me emotional now when I watch it! My favourite part is my Dads speech. It made me cry on the day and still does now. We had guest messages at the end of the video too and that really makes me smile.

I only have one regret of our wedding and that was that I wished I could have had my dog with me!! I also wish it could have lasted longer as I can honestly say I had the best day of my life, finally marrying my childhood sweetheart.

A Fairytale Wedding at Rowton Castle / Steph & Rich

Steph & Rich got wed at beautiful fairytale location Rowton Castle in the Summer of 2019.

The Proposal

I found a map and a piece of red rope attached to my car door handle, I followed the map home and along the way there were A3 pictures at different points. The first was a picture of where we went on our first date, films we watched on our fourth date etc. As I drove home, I was getting really excited, I thought I was getting a birthday surprise (it was the day before my birthday), as I walked through the front door following more red rope, our favourite song was playing, as I went out the back door, into the garden, there he was down on one knee ☺ We went for a meal at the restaurant we went to on our first date and then I had a huge party the next day for my 30^th which coupled as an engagement party.

Theme / Colour Scheme

Shades of purple was our colour theme, I didn’t want to drive myself mad trying to match one shade of purple and it’s my favourite colour.

Special Touches & Unique Ideas

Everything was a special touch really, the whole way the room came together, the flowers complemented the candles with the brushed silver candelabras and the rose petals. The outside coming to the inside and everything just gelling together.

The Big Day

I started my day at the Orchard Suite at the castle, we stayed there overnight with my mum and 2 bridesmaids, Sarah and Lacey arrived at 8ish to start hair and make-up, I was really calm, having a great time, until Dewi turned up around 11 and started taking photos, then it all became real. Rich had sent me a bangle with a charm on it saying to my beautiful wife and I broke down ☺ My very talented friend Hannah played the piano and sang I can’t outrun by Home Free, which is our all-time favourite song and I wanted to make Rich cry, I really struggled to say my vows as I was so emotional.

Funny Moments

Just me really, everyone thought I was drunk because I was just so much of a hot mess saying my vows, thank goodness I had such a talented MUA, my make-up stayed exactly where it was supposed to.

Top Tips

I wish I’d really listened to people when they told me how fast the day would go, I also wish that Rich and I had taken half an hour in our suite before the evening started, just to take in the fabulous room.

I’d spent so much time planning this day, when it came to it, I was going to enjoy every minute of it, I didn’t worry about anybody else having a good time, all that mattered on that day was Rich and I.
