So firstly, Why Botanical Cakes? Well; I am madly in-love with plants & am slowly creating a tropical rainforest inside my house. That combined with the fact that nearly EVERYTHING, everything, that goes into the baked goods stems from botanical products: flour; sugar; chocolate; fruit; vegetables; vanilla; nuts; and spices to name a few. I also use a lot of beautiful flowers & foliage: fresh; dried; sugar; chocolate leaves; & pressed. Even the cows and chickens who kindly produce the eggs, milk & butter all depend on grain, wheat, grass. All these products stem form the natural world, the botanical world. It just felt like a match made in heaven! Two passions of mine, (baking & decorating cakes combined with flowers and plants) coming together to create ‘Botanical Cakes’. I’ve wanted to make wedding cakes for as long as I can remember, and have always gravitated towards the kitchen. I am naturally very creative which helps when decorating cakes.
We make a variety of products from the wedding cakes, varying in heights, designs & flavours, to wedding favours (doughnuts, cakesicles, cake hearts, decorated cookies, cupcakes).
For me the best thing about working with clients is the creative side, firing ideas off each other and then having a product at the end that they love & resembles themselves, the wedding.
