A Luxe Shoot at Old Palace Chester

Bouquet & Bells coordinated a luxe styled shoot at new wedding and events venue Old Palace Chester.

Elevated above the River Dee in the heart of historic Chester, Old Palace Chester is an exclusive-use wedding venue in Cheshire like no other. Couples can say ‘I do’ to palatial grandeur, unrivalled outside space and the highest level of luxury for every part of your wedding day.

Nestled between ancient ruins and the exquisite riverfront, where a remarkable history and a stunning contemporary style meet, we could think of no better place to host a glamorous styled shoot fit for royalty.

The shoot was full of opulence and glamour with shots by the incredible Sarah Glynn Photography. Sarah kept close attention to detail emphasising the inspiring decor, whilst making the most of Old Palace’s beautiful setting and ornate features.

We were inspired by the traditional and historical features of Old Palace, but endeavoured to introduce a modern twist with the latest stationery trends, geometric shapes and a touch of glitz and glamour.
A selection of top quality, local suppliers helped bring our vision of traditional-meets-modern to life.

We extended the shoot across multiple areas of the Palace to showcase the venues incredible beauty and heritage features. These areas included the grand staircase, outdoor terrace and of course the beautiful grand Ballroom.

Julie from The Red Rose Cake Company created two bespoke cake designs that followed the theme seamlessly. A three tier showstopper featured in the Ballroom whilst a more petite four tier with ruffle effect and diamante beading stood proudly in the bay window with views of the River Dee.

Three gowns were lovingly selected by Hannah from Elizabeth Louise Bridal Boutique in Chester. They chose three different styles to showcase the diversity of their range. A white satin gown with a huge flowing train featured in outdoor shots as it was a real show-stopper.

Three on-trend suits were handpicked by Groom Formal Hire. It was important that the suit and gown combos looked perfect together.

Danielle from Danielle Horan Hair & Makeup and Claire from Hair Agency UK worked together to create three unique looks. Each look was tailored to to gown the model was featuring, ensuring everything worked beautifully together.

Wedding Dance Chester choreographed the shoot ensuring the couple were always camera ready in poses that made everything look effortless. They even taught them some moves on the dance floor!

Caroline from Flowers at the Dutch Barn created beautiful floral displays with use of large silver stands and a matching moongate ring to give the flowers plenty of height and to fill the vast space of the grand Ballroom.

The mix of foliage along with florals including Eucalyptus, Palms and Salal with Hydrangeas, White Avalanche Roses, Tuplips and Delphinium’s were the perfect on-trend combination.

Natalie from Jellypress created elegant & bespoke stationery including table place names, table numbers and a welcome board. Each piece followed a matching theme with use of geometric shapes and calligraphy handwriting with soft, subtle pastel shades.

Both the florals and stationery complimented each other beautifully.

A Bridal Loft Styled Shoot

Inspiration

A Bridal Loft Styled Shoot

Sals Sentimental Gifts coordinated a loft style bridal shoot in the gorgeous setting of Bridal Reloved’s Shrewsbury boutique. The focus was on the enjoyable ‘getting ready’ experience with special attention to detail on accessories provided by Sals Sentimental Gifts.

Sal says “I specialise in personalised wedding party gifts plus more. I also work closely with brides to preserve their wedding flowers to create timeless keepsakes from their special day.”

“Today was the day I had been long waiting for, my first promotional shoot to showcase some of my products. After weeks of searching for the perfect venue I teamed up with Bridal Reloved Shrewsbury. Bridal Reloved is part of a chain of boutiques specialising in second hand and ex sample dresses. This venue was perfect as the dressing room here looks like a bridal suite and was perfect for the kind of image I was going for. I wanted the shoot to look as natural as possible and to portray a morning of a wedding with the bride and her bridesmaids having fun whilst getting ready.”

“The gorgeous dresses were supplied by Bridal Reloved, the bridesmaid dresses were by The only way. The photography by the talented Peachypix. My models for the day were also great and worked very hard. It was the perfect combination to showcase my products.”

“The main aim of the day was to show off my personalised bridal robes, but the setting also lent itself perfectly to capture my unique handcrafted resin wine butler and coasters alongside our wine glasses and gift boxes. The glasses were, of course perfect for a cheeky drink to calm the nerves.”

“We set everything up in just the right places, it was so hard to choose the spots as there were so many features we could have used, but I had a vision in my mind of how I wanted everything to look. With the models ready and my handmade keepsakes in place the photographer, Peachypix got going with me directing. This was all new to me so I may have been a little overzealous, but I wanted everything to be perfect. Luckily Suzy, the photographer was very patient and guided me through to get the perfect shots. One of the hardest things I have found while building Sals Forever Flowers and Sentimental Gifts is photography…. I have always found it hard to photograph my products to do them justice, Suzy gave me some great pointers to carry forward.”

A Beautiful Boho Chic Shoot at Worcester Glamping

Photography: Tanya Flannagan Photography

Tanya coordinated a boho chic styled shoot in the beautiful setting of Worcester Glamping. Keeping in theme with pretty pinks, gold candles and organic dyed fabrics – any boho bride would love this whimsical combination!

“As being “boho bride” is on trend right now, and with the ever growing market of ‘chilled’ and ‘relaxed’ weddings – I wanted to create an idea that you can keep the both classy and elegant look, but with a slight twist in the idea.”

Fun pops of colour, rustic and pretty stationery and a gorgeous bespoke denim jacket provided an unique twist on this shoot that any fun loving girl would totally love.

“We had lovely Perspex signage outside, and organic and vegan dyed cloths for the top table decoration – making the details really stand out against the floristry and centrepieces. Not to mention the amazing bouquets and hoops –  which are slightly different to the usual bouquets for the bridesmaids, giving it a nice little quirky variation to the bride!”

Subtle and elegant bridal makeup complimented the theme beautifully. It was timeless and pretty. Stunning accessories added a touch of elegance.

We personally love the food element of this shoot. Luxury tasters including a mixture of canapés, cookies and fruit platters are a treat for the eyes.

“The food was super exciting. It gives an idea that you can add lots of little touches! Of course, the cake was a talking point on the day!”

“I had so much fun on this shoot and had a blast creating a fun, party kind of vibe – but also super sweet. I thought all of this would go well with my light and airy wedding editing, to make it pretty and romantic too.”

Fairyland-Inspired Wedding Inspiration Shoot

If you’re looking for some quirky Alice-in-Wonderland-esque wedding inspiration, then you’ll love this whimsical styled shoot.

The amazing decor and surroundings at the Lindeth Howe hotel on the banks of Lake Windermere called for a shoot with a difference. In honour of the Beatrix Potter books hanging from the walls, the animals pictured on the carpets and the foliage growing in the dining area, a Spring Festival Fairyland-inspired wedding shoot, created by AMB-Vision, seemed the only answer.

By bringing together some of the best North West wedding suppliers, AMB-Vision created a shoot to remember.

The Models

Inspired by the fabulous bespoke wedding dresses by Hannah Charlotte Bespoke, a Snow Queen and Fairy Queen were created and styled.

The Snow Queen was styled in a magical feathery skirt paired with a pure silk cowl back top both created by Hannah Charlotte Bespoke.

Bride in white dress with feather bottom and bright wild flower bouquet

For the full effect the model’s eyes were dusted with lots of white glittery shadow and a simple blush to the cheeks (Lauren Poole, the makeup artist on the shoot, was somewhat in her element!). The beautiful sculpted hair created by Wedding Hair in the Lakes was crowned with a hair piece fit for any Queen from the hugely talented Eleventh Heaven. The final flourish was a beautiful wild bouquet filled with rich yellow tones from Flower World in Penrith.

The Fairy Queen wore a more relaxed hair style, the work of the super talented Wedding Hair in the Lakes, with an ivy crown, also created by Eleventh Heaven.

Bride in gold dress with detailed top holding large feather

Warm makeup with browns and golds (as well as a hint of green to match the headpiece) worked beautifully with the crystal encrusted bodice and classic duchess satin skirt by Hannah Charlotte Bespoke. This Queen was photographed both inside the dining area of the Lindeth Howe and outside, amongst the daffodils, in the venue’s stunning gardens (a tip of the hat to Wordsworth there for anyone keeping tabs!).

As a final flourish, the Snow Queen became a Festival Queen with glitter makeup on the face and lips. An extraordinary butterfly headpiece made from pink and purple gems by Eleventh Heaven dressed her hair.

Bride with lots of glittery makeup and bright coloured balloons

She was photographed in the gardens of the Lindeth Howe beside a yet-to-blossom tree in an amazing flowing satin skirt and illusion bodice embroidered with silk flowers, pearls and delicate beading all by Hannah Charlotte Bespoke. The outfit was completed with an upcycled denim jacket emblazoned with fairy wings. Oh, and of course, some fabulously vibrant balloons from Balloons in the Lakes.

The Decor and Accessories

For the table decor, in keeping with the magical feel, the venue stylists Wilde and Romantic created a vintage vibe for the fairyland-inspired wedding shoot with clashing vintage crockery, coloured bottles and peacock feathers. Favours were Lake District-inspired booze (Kendal mint cake gin anyone?) courtesy of Penningtons Spirits & Liquers and Grasmere Gingerbread (yum). And for dessert, a rainbow layered cake of dreams created by the super talented Bella Bakes Cakes.

In keeping with the theme the beautiful stationary, created by the uber talented Raspberry Toast, which included a stunning hand painted envelope depicting birds and butterflies.

Hopefully Beatrix Potter, who once stayed at the venue when it was a family home, would have approved of our fairyland-inspired wedding shoot!
