One of my earliest memories is my mum’s well-thumbed big red recipe books. It had a full page picture of smartie face fairy cakes and as a little girl I thought they were magical. Growing up I baked many, many sponge cakes and fairy cakes from that recipe book.
After my youngest child was born I left my 20 year career in the NHS and decided to put all that baking experience to good use and registered to be a home bakery. I quickly developed a reputation for elegant contemporary wedding cakes with delicate sugar flowers.
The cutting of your wedding cake is a tradition that will definitely be captured on your wedding day and I love to work with couples to make that special moment beautiful and memorable with a showstopper wedding cake.
Every design is bespoke and created to perfectly complement your wedding. I also provide stunning dessert tables and delicious edible wedding favours.

My business has been established now for four years. I have two brands, my wedding cake brand Elizabeth Anna Cake Design, which is named after my two beautiful daughters; and my celebration cake brand The Burscough Cake Company, which is named after the beautiful village I live in.
My main catchment area is Cheshire, Merseyside and Lancashire although I have been known to venture into Yorkshire too!
I offer face to face design and tasting consultations. These typically last for an hour where we create your bespoken design and most importantly you leave with a box of cake to try.
I usually only ask for a £50 deposit to secure your booking once we have had a design and tasting consultation. At this point the deposit is non-refundable.

You know that old saying “new year, new me”? Well, ahead of the fast approaching 2025, we’ve decided to switch some things up around here and add a dash more sparkle into Bouquet and Bells.
This shoot was inspired wholly by the vastness and beauty of the venue as well as the unitarians inspiring ethos: Ullet Road Unitarian Church. We chose a beautiful day for the shoot, meaning the light flooding into the building and outside of the building was beautiful. We had a selection of dresses to change into for different parts of the church, and we utilised the late in different rooms and at different windows, as well as the doors for the iconic confetti shots.
Your wedding is a magical day which will stay with you forever. However, it’s unquestionable that with a tag like that, there’s also going to be an element of pressure you need to manage. 84% of brides report feeling some sort of stress about their big day. And while a lot of this comes hand-in-hand with planning a large event, it’s unquestionable that standing in front of anyone as the “star of the show” is going to get the nerves jangling.
