A Pocketful of Posies is a boutique floral design studio based in Glossop in the High Peak and operating throughout North West England and beyond. Creating beautiful wedding florals is where Mel’s heart lies, and she loves working with couples to make their unique vision for their big day into reality. Friendly and inclusive and with a personal touch to ensure all the little details are perfect, she will guide you through the process and select the right seasonal blooms for everything from traditional bridal and bridesmaid bouquets, corsages and buttonholes to the slightly quirkier flower crowns, fairy wands and pet collars that modern couples love.
Mel’s signature style is relaxed, seasonal and whimsical, with an emphasis on sustainability and a love of working with British blooms and foam-free mechanics.
Minimum spend is just £300, which is usually enough to cater for a small bridal party (depending on flowers chosen), including bridal and bridesmaid bouquets, flower girls and buttonholes. Additional venue decoration can then be added to suit your budget, including large installation pieces, urns and meadows for your ceremony or wedding breakfast venue, so you can ensure your alter, aisle and wedding table are as beautiful as your bridal party florals.

This shoot was inspired wholly by the vastness and beauty of the venue as well as the unitarians inspiring ethos: Ullet Road Unitarian Church. We chose a beautiful day for the shoot, meaning the light flooding into the building and outside of the building was beautiful. We had a selection of dresses to change into for different parts of the church, and we utilised the late in different rooms and at different windows, as well as the doors for the iconic confetti shots.
Your wedding is a magical day which will stay with you forever. However, it’s unquestionable that with a tag like that, there’s also going to be an element of pressure you need to manage. 84% of brides report feeling some sort of stress about their big day. And while a lot of this comes hand-in-hand with planning a large event, it’s unquestionable that standing in front of anyone as the “star of the show” is going to get the nerves jangling.
