Hello! I’m Rachel, a natural light photographer based in the lovely city of Chester. Covering Cheshire and North Wales but happy to travel further afield. I have always enjoyed photographing people and LOVE a good wedding! So what better job than this?! I feel so lucky to be able to call my passion my job and can’t imagine doing anything else. The best thing about this job is meeting lots of lovely loved-up couples and watching their exciting plans come to life.
I offer authentic, unobtrusive, relaxed wedding photography for camera shy couples. Allowing your day to unfold naturally without interference, but being ready to capture the big moments and small discreet ones as they happen. My style is documentary with a touch of direction. I occasionally step in to make subtle adjustments or suggestions for the most flattering light and have plenty of tricks and prompts up my sleeve to get you warmed up and let your personalities and love shine through!
I have been told by several clients that I’m approachable and easy to chat to. I’m a naturally smiley person and warm to equally smiley couples. I like to meet face to face (where possible) as I think it’s vital we get on and that you feel relaxed in my company, after all I will be by your side on the most important day of your lives! I am eager to deliver your gallery and aim to send previews next day and a fully polished gallery in 4-5 weeks, but I am also a bit of a perfectionist and will not release your gallery until I am 100% happy. I have a creative vision, being a designer previously, I’m always thinking up new quirky or creative ideas, thinking outside the box. A kiss in a lift. Sharing a milkshake in Five Guys. Perhaps you can help me realise my next vision.
I have honestly loved every single wedding I have shot for different reasons. Each one unique and special. But I guess the ones that stand out for me most are;
Nat + Hugh’s Scarlet Hall wedding. A beautiful mix of rustic opulence and hilarious fun energy. They packed a lot into their day with Bongo’s Bingo, lawn games and brilliant surprise singers. I was like a kid in a sweet shop, everywhere I looked there were photos to be captured! Scarlet Hall is a stunning venue with a large barn conversion and luxury country estate accommodation split between a manor and coach house. Outside boasts five acres of stunning lawns, a pond and an orchard. Definitely right up there in my top 5 wedding venues to photograph.
Alice and Paige’s micro wedding, a registry office ceremony followed by some epic portraits around Chester which included a milkshake at Five Guys, champagne in the new market and a smooch in a plant shop! These two wanted me to get creative with their photos and I was completely up for the challenge. So much fun.
And last but not least Debbie + John who got married close to their home at The Beaches Hotel, Prestatyn. What could be better than golden hour beach front portraits on the doorstep? A backdrop of the ocean and to top it all off THE loveliest warmest, most fun couple (not forgetting bride Debbie’s brilliant facial expressions, a photographer’s dream).

Yes, I actually prefer face-to-face meetings where possible. They feel much more relaxed and personal. It’s important to me that my couples feel relaxed and happy in my company.

This shoot was inspired wholly by the vastness and beauty of the venue as well as the unitarians inspiring ethos: Ullet Road Unitarian Church. We chose a beautiful day for the shoot, meaning the light flooding into the building and outside of the building was beautiful. We had a selection of dresses to change into for different parts of the church, and we utilised the late in different rooms and at different windows, as well as the doors for the iconic confetti shots.
Your wedding is a magical day which will stay with you forever. However, it’s unquestionable that with a tag like that, there’s also going to be an element of pressure you need to manage. 84% of brides report feeling some sort of stress about their big day. And while a lot of this comes hand-in-hand with planning a large event, it’s unquestionable that standing in front of anyone as the “star of the show” is going to get the nerves jangling.
