As a wedding florist we create flowers for your special day, we create everything floral from buttonholes to bouquets, archways to table centrepieces as well as every other floral detail in between. Flowers at the Dutch Barn specialise in fresh flowers and foliage but also do create designs in artificial too.
Caroline has always been obsessed with flowers and when she started a floristry course seven years ago she loved it. After deciding that her current career as a primary school teacher wasn’t what the future held for her she left teaching. Caroline completed a full time course; trained with one of the top florists in the world in Germany; she won awards too and after doing many wedding flowers for family and friends ‘Flowers at the Dutch Barn’ was created. The business has gone from strength to strength since it began, including being featured in magazines, on the front cover of magazines, being featured in award-winning blogs, more awards won and each year having more and more amazing weddings to design flowers for.
What you love most about working with couples: Caroline is a people-person, it’s one of the main reasons she went into teaching, so her favourite part is definitely chatting with each of her couples, finding out about them and then creating amazing bespoke floral designs for their special day.
We have worked at many magical weddings across the country but these are three that stick in our minds for many different reasons:
Ellie and Tony married at Denstone College and had their wedding reception in her parents garden in a beautiful clear marquee. They chose ‘living coral’ as their colour scheme and had a variety of gorgeous David Austin Roses mixed in with other beautiful fragrant flowers and foliages. We suspended folaige from the Edison Bulbs hanging from the ceiling to create a botanical, yet modern look. This wedding went on to feature on ‘Rock my Wedding’ and on the front cover of ‘Herts & Bedfordshire Wedding Magazine’.
Holly and Calum live locally to the workshop and found out about Flowers at the Dutch Barn after driving past the road sign many times; Holly contacted Caroline and they got on straight away. The bride and groom opted for a blush and foliage colour palette to compliment the autumnal vibe at their beautiful venue Colshaw Hall. Holly’s bouquet was oversized, wild in style and incorporated dahlias from ‘Just Dahlias’ a flower farm local to both Holly and Caroline, the dahlias were picked the day before the wedding by Caroline herself. This wedding stands out to Caroline because not only did she adore the flowers she created but also Holly and Calum as a couple, the fact that it was all about supporting small, local businesses was just an extra bonus!
The other wedding which pops to mind was Lou and Benn’s. Now this is a couple who are head over heels in love! They had to postpone their April 2020 wedding due to the Covid-19 Pandemic lockdown, but love prevailed and they moved it to Autumn 2020. Despite the restriction of fifteen people, they tied the knot at Stock Farm, Knutsford in an intimate ceremony filled full of colour, humour and pure, utter love. Lou and Benn certainly put their stamp on their special day and are just the loveliest couple you ever did meet. Not only was it one of the nine weddings Caroline provided flowers for during 2020 (it should have been over seventy), they persevered and truly did prove that love wins! Also, to top it off, they chose yellow and blue as their colour scheme, making Caroline very happy as it matched the Flowers at the Dutch Barn logo!

Flowers at the Dutch Barn officially turned two in October 2020, however, Caroline had been studying floristry for five years prior to taking the leap and turning the business into her full time career.
We work nationwide but we predominantly cover Cheshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Liverpool, The Wirral and Wales. We adore working in different venues, and work in Tipi’s a lot!
For 2020 there was meant to be over seventy weddings in our diary, this was our best projected year so far, but 2021 is looking even better! We say “bring it on!!!”
This is one of our favourite parts about your wedding journey. We offer face-to-face consultations throughout the year. At these we sit with a biscuit and a brew and we get to know each other. We chat about your special day and then Caroline creates a bespoke quotation just for you. After all, no two weddings are ever the same!
Here at Flowers at the Dutch Barn we don’t ask for a deposit, instead we ask for a non-refundable booking fee to secure your date. This is 25% of your initial quotation and comes off your final invoice.

This shoot was inspired wholly by the vastness and beauty of the venue as well as the unitarians inspiring ethos: Ullet Road Unitarian Church. We chose a beautiful day for the shoot, meaning the light flooding into the building and outside of the building was beautiful. We had a selection of dresses to change into for different parts of the church, and we utilised the late in different rooms and at different windows, as well as the doors for the iconic confetti shots.
Your wedding is a magical day which will stay with you forever. However, it’s unquestionable that with a tag like that, there’s also going to be an element of pressure you need to manage. 84% of brides report feeling some sort of stress about their big day. And while a lot of this comes hand-in-hand with planning a large event, it’s unquestionable that standing in front of anyone as the “star of the show” is going to get the nerves jangling.
